Mission Statement

LANGHOF® has set itself a clear objective: to create beautiful living spaces that make life more enjoyable. Of course, the definition of what is beautiful or enjoyable can change depending on the person or the environment. That is why LANGHOF® strives to develop architectural concepts that meet their users’ needs, both inside and out: architecture that is functional and practical while still leaving room for the imagination; that people can identify with proudly; that has stories to tell, while opening vistas to new dimensions. In short, architecture that manages to bridge the gap between individuality and comfort, between the modern zeitgeist and tradition. Architecture that will last. Over a lifetime – and beyond.

Professor Christoph Langhof is a native of Linz, Austria. After studying architecture in Vienna, Düsseldorf and Berlin, he went on to found the Berlin-based eponymous architectural firm in 1978. Since then, LANGHOF® has realized numerous building projects for both public and private clients. As conceptual architects, Christoph Langhof and his team take charge of a project’s preliminary design, design, and artistic supervision.

Professor Langhof’s most important projects include the headquarters of the Berliner Wasserbetriebe (Municipal Waterworks), the Classicon Building on Leipziger Platz, and the Horst-Korber-Zentrum near Berlin’s Olympia Stadium. At present, LANGHOF® is overseeing the highly prestigious “Upper West” project being developed on Breitscheidplatz Square in Berlin’s City West. Additional architectural projects are ongoing in St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Kaliningrad.

Cristoph Langhof’s work has achieved international renown, having been featured in numerous publications, lectures, and exhibitions, including two showings at the Architecture Biennale in Venice, Italy. Christoph Langhof has been a visiting professor at such institutions as the Architectural Association in London, the Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste (State Academy for the Visual Arts) in Frankfurt, and the University of Innsbruck’s Institut für Städtebau (Institute for Urban Planning), an organization which he has also chaired. Professor Langhof has been recognized with the Berliner Architekturpreis (Berlin Prize for Architecture).
